Rick Quimby -- Kidstuff
Here are some kid-friendly songs that I wrote and recorded during the late 1900s and early 2000s in Worcester, MA. These were originally recorded on a 4-track Tascom Portastudio tape deck, and mixed onto a 2-track stereo cassette tape. In 2026 they were digitally remastered from the 2-track cassette tapes. No additional instrumentation or vocals were added for this re-mastered version, only overall frequency and volume balance.
- 1. Pumpkin's Lullaby
-
A song about getting the baby to sleep.
- 2. Pink Allegator
-
There are things in life that only a child can see.
- 3. She Teaches Me
-
We like to think that we teach our kids -- but they really teach us a lot too, keeping us grounded.
- 4. Woodchuck
-
Do Woodchucks really chuck wood? Find out in this silly word-play song.
- 5. Burping Baby Song
-
A song that a friend of mine (Anne-Marie Fickes) made up about life with a baby, which I arranged and recorded.
- 6. Maeve Babe
-
Another "will that baby ever go to sleep?" song, that I wrote for
Anne-Marie's daughter.
- 7. A Mother Knows
-
My sister's young son once had a problem with his throat, and despite the
doctor's opinion that there was nothing to be concerned about, she just knew
there was something in there. When she insisted, they investigated further, and did indeed
find a small object stuck near his vocal cords. That inspired me to write this song.
